Trendwatch: The Kitchen Appliances You’re About to See Everywhere in 2021

The appliances you include in your new kitchen design should be chosen for their ability to enhance your lifestyle and make cooking healthy meals easy. Automation, minimalism and style are the biggest draw cards for appliances moving into the new year. Considering a kitchen renovation in 2021? You’ll want to include these appliances in your new space.

Steam Ovens

Whilst certainly nothing new, steam ovens are growing increasingly popular in domestic custom made kitchens, and with good reason. Different from a traditional steamer, steam ovens have a water canister inside the cavity itself. The moisture from the steam is then kept at optimal levels throughout use, reducing the need for cooking your food in fatty oils.

Meals cooked in steam ovens are generally healthier thanks to the lack of fat or oil used, with steaming retaining more of the vitamins and nutrients of the food. Steam ovens also reduce cooking time significantly, and the humidity of the oven itself keeps your meal from drying out, preserving the overall taste.

Automated Induction Stoves

Induction stoves have a host of benefits, including energy efficiency, being cheaper to run and doubling as spare bench space when you’re in a pinch (provided it’s turned off). In the  custom made kitchens of 2021 and beyond, the induction cooktop is set to become more intelligent, making home cooking simpler and more efficient.

Whitegoods company Whirlpool has designed an induction cooktop that connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and allows you to program the temperature and cooking time of each element, so you’ll never have to worry about overcooking anything. Intelligent stoves are designed with the home cook in mind, to ease the burden of lengthy, step-laden recipes.

Remote Controlled Appliances

Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity for your kitchen appliances will soon become the norm, with smart refrigerators already having cemented their place in the market. You can already sync your kettle to turn on in time with your alarm, or make a coffee from bed with the click of a button on your phone. In 2021, custom made kitchens are also set to include ovens you can set and forget about from a distance, eliminating the need for a slow cooker, and even fridges and freezers with automated defrosting and chilling programs.
